Farm Fresh Inception Story

Earlier, due to the Market Committee Act, farmers in Maharashtra were restricted from taking their produce to cities and selling it. In August 2017, the then government repealed the Market Committee Act. Because the market committee members had called the bandh fruits and vegetables were not available in Mumbai for eight days. At that time, I took few vegetables and fruits like tomato, flower, chawli, sitafal, pomegranate from our farm and sold them standing on the road in Bhandup.

All the fruits and vegetables were sold out at once. It gave the us confidence that we can sell the produce grown in the farm. Gradually we started selling fruits and vegetables in Mulund, Sion, Wadala area with the help of local residents and complexes like Dosti Acres. Due to restrictions on this in Corona, we took orders on WhatsApp and delivered vegetables and fruits to people at home.

It was now time to take the technology support for the expansion of the business. Thus came up the website www.ekrushak.com . The online work was started vigorously. Today the work of providing online order is going on in Dombivli, Thane West, Mulund, Bhandup East – West, Wadala, Sion, Matunga, Dadar.

We also set up retail stalls once a week from 6 am to 11 am at Regency Anantham in Dombivli, Lodha Splendora in Thane, Maratha Mandal in Mulund, Dreams Complex in Bhandup, Dosti Acres and Bhakti Park in Wadala, L&T Crescent Bay in Parel.

We have set up a 2000 square feet PACK HOUSE for vegetables, fruits and other things near the farm i.e. Alephata Junnar Pune.
Thus making employment available to the local people. All the Vegetables and fruits are from our farms and farmers in the surrounding ten kilometers area of our PACK HOUSE.

Fresh fruits and vegetables are properly selected, sorted and packed and at night they are properly filled in crates and delivered to the customers the next morning. There is a team of six delivery men in Mumbai as well. Also more than 90 farmers have been connected with us. In the future, we aim to provide clean, farm fresh vegetables and fruits in Mumbai and Thane area.
